Wednesday morning was rainy so we stayed in the hotel room until it cleared up some. When we went out we visited Oslo's National Gallery of Art and the Nobel Peace Center, both being indoor activities. The National Gallery has works of art from many well known artists, but features an entire gallery dedicated to Norway's best known artist, Edvard Munch. We enjoyed walking through all the galleries, and also a special exhibit dedicated to another Norwegian, Gerhard Munthe. After leaving the Art Gallery, we walked to the Nobel Peace Center and followed an English speaking tour guide through the exhibits. Some of the exhibits featured information about Alfred Nobel and winners of the Nobel Peace Prize, but the majority of the Center focused on the work of the 2017 winner ICAN (International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear weapons).

After the Nobel Center, we decided to visit the
Vigeland Sculpture Park. It was about a mile and a half walk to the park but the weather was staying dry if not sunny so we chanced it. The Vigeland sculpture park contains hundreds of sculptures by Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943) and is the largest sculpture park made by a single artist. The sculptures are installed in an 80 acre section of Frogner Park, and we covered the whole exhibit.

When planning our visit to Oslo we learned that the Akerselva river runs through Oslo and there is actually a waterfall in the city. So when we finished our Vigeland visit, we found our way another 2 miles across the city to the
Waterfall at Molla. I should mention that Oslo is a hilly city and we climbed our share of them on our treks.

The waterfall visit rounded out our points of interest list for Oslo so we started back to the hotel. We wanted to go somewhere besides the hotel restaurant for dinner, and decided to go to the Hard Rock Cafe. Our dinner there was good. On returning to the hotel we went to the Summit Bar on the top floor and had a drink while enjoying a panoramic nighttime view of the city we had walked so much of. Our total steps for Wednesday were over 25,000.
